Something to celebrate...

These students have been considering their choices
at school this week.

Our PB4L focus is - Consider Your Choices.
I do this by making good learning choices
for myself and others.

Well done, Keira!

Inquiry Art

Yesterday the Kiwi Team participated in an art workshop with Graham Dodd. He is helping us create a master piece for our Inquiry Learning.
We learned how to sketch a duck and how to shade correctly.
We were very pleased with the results.

Room 9 is Firewise!

Firefighter Matt came to our school and spoke to us about fire safety.

We learnt that fires can be dangerous and that certain behaviours can prevent fires from happening. EG: not playing with matches, lighters and candles, giving matches and lighters to an adult and playing away from fires.

After completing this Firewise Programme we will understand the importance of getting out of a burning building quickly and safely.

Making Ice Cream

On Friday we made Ice Cream. This is part of our Inquiry Learning Process. After our farm visit we looked at products that can be made from milk.
Our first choose was to investigate, how to make ice cream.
Here's how we made the ice cream.

1 x 350ml Fresh cream
1x can of Condensed milk
1x teaspoon vanilla flavouring

Beat the cream with a hand blender till just firm. Add the Condensed milk and beat till think. Add Oreos or fresh fruit.
Scoop ice cream mixture into a container and freeze over night.
Mmm... it’s delicious!

Making our Learning Visible...

In Room 9 we are taking ownership of our learning. We have writing goals to help us achieve the next steps in our learning.

Here are a few examples of our writing goals. These goals are important as it assists us in our individual learning paths.

Always pack brainfood for school

Just look at these students packing their own brainfood and lunch for school.
Super Job, boys!

We can eat fruit and vegetables everyday. It’s healthy and helps us grow.

I am packing some grapes for brainfood. Healthy food helps me make good choices at school.

I love apples. Brainfood is very good for us and help us grow big and strong muscles.
